Keywords:
Female, Idolatry, Colonial SocietyAbstract
In the present article, we will analyze the feminine in the dynamics of the society of the Viceroyalty of Peru, during the 17th century, based on the ecclesiastical processes available in Archivo Arzobispal de Lima (AAL), section Hechicería e Idolatría. We aim to understand how the feminine, which within the Andean logic understood itself as part of an organic and holistic whole, becomes, with the Hispanic arrival, defendants in the processes of Visiting the Extirpation of Idolatry. We will also analyze what these processes can reveal about the existence, even if mitigated, of Andean religious practices within the colonial society of the 17th century.
